the story

of how it all began.

birds who like pomegranate (bwlp) is a 1987 graduate of El Cerrito High. besides skateboarding, aerosol art-ing, and motorcycling back then, he wrote Kieth Haring an illustrated opus themed: ‘How-A-West-Coast -Graffiti-Artist-Perceives-Keith-Haring’. bwlp, (known as Byron—or ‘Mack Holiday’ to chums), sent his veritas naïveté veritas to Kieth’s postcard publisher: Artpost (not expecting what could or might happen). odds forever being in bwlp’s favor: Haring’s proprietary stationery soon thereafter arrived. a neat little artifact written to: Byron in Crescent Park at his auntie Diane’s. soon thereafter bwlp was off to NYC. now we’re here.
